Ah it looks cool I thought it was some new feature Thanks for the explanation
@julia If you find a map too bright, you can change the gamma: /gamma x, default x is 100. Higher is brighter.
спасибо, мои дорогие
Have any of you played Delphi in Regencapture mode? If so, do the bases have names? Also, do bots work well for you? I am asking because I think the .cfg and .wpt files didn't load properly from the download.
The importance of /calclight q paired with /savemap. Without these commands, maps custom maps would look like poo-poo.
Typing /calclight q (the q is important!) will save the maps lighting no matter how many times you load the map. If you leave out the "q" at the end of the command, lighting and shadows will reset despite all the time you spent calculating them next time you open the map. Save yourself from rendering all the time! Once you use the calclight q command, do /savemap to complete the process. Don't let maps look like poo-poo!
Many computer terminals are actually teleporters. These are very useful for escaping with a flag in ctf mode.
Random rooms I find to be particularly nice:
The Control Station-
The Tram Depot/Subway-
The Storage Hall-
Hopefully this is the final version of Delphi.
If you want to play regencapture on it, and the base names do not show, (I came up with descriptive titles for them rather than just "base 8" or "base 2") copy the contents of the .cfg file and type them into the cfg menu in the map. Here is how:
First, do /map Delphi
Next, once the map has loaded, hit esc and click on editing
Then go to cfg in the top right. Type in the base titles as shown.
Lastly, hit exec and save. Probably not a bad idea to do a /savemap too, for good measure.
Of course, if you don't use the english alphabet comfortably, it is probably better to just leave them as numbers... I apologize if this is confusing for some due to a language barrier and my poor explanation.
Almost forgot! In case you didn't know, you can use commands to change the game mode of any map.
All the insta commands:
All the modes with health and ammo pickups: (these are my favorite on Delphi)
Tactics (spawn with 2 random guns; very fun but underused in my opinion)
Efficiency modes (just rocket spam. no good.)
Capture modes. The one that might be broken on my map.
/regencapture (fun. a bit)
/capture (not to be confused with regencapture, capture is not fun in any way)
/coop (for cooperative editing. only useful on servers, as editing in any mode is possible in singleplayer)
I know that you all probably know these commands, but for those who don't use them a lot, all you have to do is type the mode command, followed by the map title. (It is case-sensitive, and Delphi is spelled with a big "D")
for example, my favorite: /collect Delphi +enter.
If you want to test bots, to add them, you can either set key in options,
or do /addbot (accuracy%). Call me a newbie, but I play against accuracy 65 bots (/addbot 65)
Bots probably won't work, sadly, but this command is useful on servers too. That's it, I'll stop the spam now. Please don't freak out
New map I just started today! Primarily going to be a CTF map. Name: none yet. please help.
Gameplay will be similar to capture night or twinforts.
Good news and bad news:
Good news is now I have smooth curved pipes to put into my maps to make them look better.
Bad news is, I want to put them into Delphi, which means another re-download.
I'm not sure about the rest of you, but I think these new pipes look much more professional. They are also smaller than the original pipes, which means I can put more of them on the walls here.
